Tamur River Rafting is probably one of best blend of experience in Nepal- from magnificent whitewater drift to beautiful unspoiled valley and trek in the famous Himalaya. This sparking river and its tributaries hail from the snow of Kanchenjunga, the third highest peak in the world. The Tamur, powerful and stunning river is sixth largest river in Nepal.
Once we launch the raft in Tamur, we are into the most amazing whitewater adventure with some huge, intense and challenging rapids of class V. The landscapes witnessed during the trek are remote, beautiful and unexplored wilderness of eastern Nepal. We encounter very few and occasional settlements with very rare agriculture glimpse throughout the journey. There are plenty of stunning sandy beaches for camping and presence of abundant wildlife for sightseeing.
Our journey instigate with domestic flight or drive from Kathmandu to Biratnagar nestled in far south-east of Nepal. We then take a scenic drive from Biratnagar to Basantapur and stay overnight in lodge or camp. The nest day, we make a spectacular 5 days trek to Doban in Taplejung district where our exhilarating river trip commences. We also visit some cultural village to get to know about local tradition and way of living.
Day 01: Drive from Biratnagar to Basantapur. Stay overnight at hotel or camp
Day 02: Trek to Mangalbare and O/N at camp. (5 hours)
Day 03: Trek to Guphapokhari and O/N at camp. (5 hours)
Day 04: Trek to Gorja and O/N at camo. (5 hours)
Day 05: Trek to Doban and O/N at camp. 3 hours
Day 06: Rafting at Tamor River and camp at Kabelidobhan.
Day 07: Rafting at whitewater section and camp at Koya river bank.
Day 08: Raft down at clam section and O/N at Dumre
Day 09: Continue rafting and camp nearby Tribenighat
Day 10: Continue rafting until Chatara for 3 hours. Sight of river bank village and pilgrimage site
Day 11: Drive back to Kathmadnu.
