Home to ethnic tribe Tsumbas and snow-peaks, Tsum valley trek offers numerous chances to experience a remote Himalayan enclave without forsaking creature comforts. Discover the secret Tibetan Buddhist culture who resides in scheduled Himalayan valley of Manaslu. This spectacular trek takes you to the closest vicinity of mighty Ganesh Himal, Sringi Himal and Boudha Himal range. Moreover, the valley is a sanctuary of many highly endangered animals like Snow leopard and Panda. More than 110 species of birds has been identified so far in Manaslu region that includes golden eagle, Himalayan Griffon, Kalij and more. Hunting is banned which helps in prosperity of fauna in Manaslu region.

The people of Tsum valley initially belongs from Tibetan origin who have their own ancient dialect, art, culture and tradition. This divine place is dotted with monasteries, mani wall, chorten and Buddhist sculpture. Tsum valley used to be an important salt-trading route. Tsum lies on northern part of Manaslu and was restricted for tourism until 2008. This is relatively less exposed region with pristine landmarks and off beaten paths in comparison to other touristic location of Nepal. Tsumbas have unique family structure, which might sound surprising for others. All the brothers of the family are supposed to marry single girl.

Many trekkers love to combine the Tsum valley trek with the Manaslu circuit trek commencing the trail from Arughat and ending to Besisashar (The starting point for Annapurna Circuit trek). The trail goes through several ups and downs and passes small Hindu settlements before entering into Tsum valley. Stretching to east of valley takes you to the area of exceptional beauty and Tibetan influenced villages. Teahouses are readily available throughout the trail but you can go for camping if you want to.
