Kanchejunga soaring peak is so high that trekking in its base camp is itself an adventurous and adrenaline task. Kanchenjunga Base Camp trek is relatively different when comparing it with other classical trekking in Nepal. The massif Kanhenjunga is so huge that it straddles the border of three countries- Nepal, India and China. Until 1849, Mount Kanchenjunga (8,586m) is considered as the highest mountain on earth that goes before the discovery of Everest and K2. According to Tibetan mythology, Kanchenjunga means “the five great treasure of snow”.

Kanchenjunga region is inhabitant by the ethnic tribe- Rai, Limbu and Sherpa people. This trek gives you an exceptional opportunity to explore wide range of landscapes, lust tropical forest and alpine zone that grows rhododendron, chestnut and oak forest. Pristine Jungle and wet lands are home for iconic species such as Red Panda, snow leopard, Tibetan wolf and numerous species of flora and birds. Trekking in spring fascinates you with an enchanting view of thriving rhododendron sweeping all over the hills and scarlet Lali Gurans, the national flower of Nepal. You will encounter many cultural villages inhabited by Limbu people in lower valley to Gurung and Sherpa in higher valley. The trail meanders through Kanchenjunga National Park supported by WWF in collaboration with local community and the majority of area is very less populated.
