The region’s entrance chorten consist nine complexes of Buddhist and Bonpo mandals painted on wooden ceiling.

Lower Dolpo is truly a land of paradise, time has still stood still here for centuries and the Tibetan inhabitants continue to exist, cultivate, trade and follow the culture the way they have done centuries ago. The people living in the region are Bhotia and their culture hugely resembles to Tibetan. The Bonpo monastery and Tso Gompa set above the lake on forested ridge and the striking view of Kanjiroba are the major attractions of the region.
